Yamanat – Taiz

The surrounding area of the Sarajiya Wall in the ancient city of Taiz, southwest Yemen, is the scene of preliminary construction work to restore the wall, led by UNESCO.

Al-Sarrajiya Wall is located in the western part of the old city of Taiz and includes an ancient castle dating back to the Apostolic era.

This follows the inscription by UNESCO, in October 2025, of a number of archaeological sites in Taiz on the preliminary heritage list, namely:
(Cairo Citadel, Al-Muzaffar Mosque, Al-Ashrafieh Mosque, Al-Husseiniyah Dome, Bab Musa, Al-Bab Al-Kabir, Al-Muzaffar Steam Bath, Al-Sarrajiya Wall, Al-Shinini Market, Remains of the City Wall, Al-Mu’tabiya Mosque and Al-Mutawakkil Mosque).
